One of the main complaints I always have from my new clients is "I can't lose this belly!!" You are working out hard and trying to eat right and that annoying pudge is still not moving. Calories count, but it's WHAT you are eating that really matters. The number one reason is usually the consumption of highly processed food!! You probably know that packaged, processed foods are bad for you because of the high amounts of sodium and sugar they contain, but there's another reason to avoid them: They often contain added trans fats. Trans fats help extend the shelf life of foods, but they also cause inflammation and excess belly fat.
Not only does a healthy diet to your body right, but more importantly what we put in our bodies is the main thing that affects our HEALTH!! Choosing healthy, whole foods can reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, and other diseases. Sixty percent of cancer cases are diet-related!!
So next time you go to restock your kitchen, stick to shopping on the outside aisles of the grocery store. Why? Because you will find produce, dairy, and meat in these aisles, unprocessed best for your body and healthy. All the tempting processed foods you will find in the middle aisles are loaded with GMOs, phosphates, and pesticides.
Real food is not complicated. It is not highly processed, and it doesn't have a long list of ingredients you can't pronounce
What we eat affects every aspect of our health. Do this challenge for YOU!!
Real food defined:: What you CAN eat!!
-Whole foods:: Food in its most natural state
-Fruits and Vegetables:: local and organic
-Dairy Products:: Eggs, milk, yogurt, cheese
-100% Whole Wheat/Whole Grain products
-Seafood:: Wild caught, preferably farm raised
-Only locally raised meats such as pork, beef, and chicken (preferably in moderation)
-Natural Sweeteners:: Honey/Pure Maple Syrup in moderation
-Snacks like dried fruit, seeds, nuts:: organic, unsweetened
-Beverages like WATER (is best), milk, natural juices, coffee, tea (in moderation, except water)
What your CAN NOT eat::
-No refined grains such as white flour or white rice (items containing wheat must say WHOLE wheat…not just “wheat”)
-No refined sweetners such as sugar, any form of corn syrup, cane juice, or the artificial stuff like Splenda (you can use Stevia or Truvia)
-Nothing out of a box, can, bag, bottle or package that has more than 5 ingredients listed on the label..yes this includes condiments like dressings and even Ketchup:(
-No chips, crackers, cookies, candy, no desserts
-No cereal, No granola, No waffles
-No ice cream, butter, creamy spreads, creamer
-No white rice, no white pasta, no white bread..NOTHING WHITE!
-No fried foods
-No "fast food"
-No alcohol:(
-No diet foods
-No processed meats (deli meat, hot dogs, etc)
-No fruit juice, No soda, No sports drinks
Try this very strictly for a month and see how your body transforms..not only physically, but how you feel!! This will set the tone for how you can eat in the future..every now and then it's okay to cheat, but always remember moderation is key! Good luck!!
